Watercolor: Misty Forest Landscape
Manor Mill Gallery, Monkton, MD
Sunday, February 8, 2026,
10 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
This watercolor workshop will focus on something that is actually out of focus—a misty landscape. We’ll first create a gradient wash over our watercolor paper with muted greens and browns. A pine forest in the background will be shrouded in fog, while the forest architecture becomes more distinct in the foreground, lending depth to our landscape. This workshop will engage with classic watercolor techniques, and all materials are provided.
(Sorry, this workshop is filled)
Watercolor: Winter Pasture Under Cold Wax
Manor Mill Gallery, Monkton, MD
Sunday, March 8, 2026
10:00-12:00
Watercolor paintings are typically protected under glass, but applying a layer of cold wax directly on your finished watercolor is a fun alternative and will protect your painting without the typical glare of glass. Because the cold wax contains no water, it can be applied directly to the watercolor painting and will not redissolve the paint. We’ll create a winter pasture scene using wet-in-wet techniques, waterproof ink for details, and a splatter effect to create snow. Then we’ll apply a cold wax coating to protect our paintings which can be framed without glass.
Saturday, April 25, 2026, 2:00-4:00 p.m.
This workshop will focus on a fun technique using masking fluid to protect the white of our watercolor paper to create a beautiful watercolor bird’s nest. Our masking fluid will give shape to bright tiny bird eggs surrounded by a circle of woodland twigs and leaves. Last, we’ll blend our colors with a wet-in-wet technique to achieve a soft background branches and leaves for our painting. Mats will be provided to mount your masterpiece! All materials will be provided, including wine! Intended for adults 13+.

Several of my watercolors are on display through the middle of January 2026 at the Baltimore County Courthouse in the heart of Towson. I am joined in this exhibit by several members of the Towson Arts Collective Gallery.
I am excited to be one of a few selected artists to display original pieces for sale at the Roggenart Cafe in Towson, Maryland. It's a beautiful setting for the paintings and I am grateful to Roggenart for sponsoring this exhibition by local artists.
